Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly inaugurated the 29th edition of the Cairo International Technology Exhibition and Conference (Cairo ICT 2025)—the largest and most influential technology event in the Middle East and Africa. Held under the auspices of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), this year’s exhibition runs from 16 to 19 November at the Egypt International Exhibition Center in New Cairo, under the theme “AI Everywhere.”

Bringing together more than 500 exhibitors and senior representatives from government, regulatory bodies, and leading technology institutions, the event reflects Egypt’s growing regional leadership in digital innovation.
Madbouly: ICT Is a Strategic Pillar of National Economic Development
Prime Minister Madbouly was received by
Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, alongside senior officials including Eng. Raafat Hindi, Deputy Minister for Infrastructure and Digital Transformation; Dr. Mohamed Farid, Chairman of the Financial Regulatory Authority; and Mr. Osama Kamal, Chairman of Trade Fairs International.

Madbouly praised the strong presence of Egyptian technology companies and emphasized that the ICT sector has become a key driver of economic growth, job creation, digital exports, and sustainable development. He underscored the government’s commitment to a comprehensive national digital strategy with clear objectives and detailed implementation plans to accelerate Egypt’s digital transition.
Digital Egypt Strategy: Four Pillars for a Fully Empowered Society
During his tour, the Prime Minister visited the MCIT pavilion, where Minister Talaat presented the latest progress under the Digital Egypt Strategy. The strategy focuses on:
Seamless access to digital services
Local manufacturing and building a productive digital economy
Advanced digital empowerment for all citizens
Promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital creativity
The minister highlighted efforts to expand digital accessibility, raise digital skills, and unlock new economic opportunities powered by AI, IoT, cloud computing, and data innovation.
New Digital Services for Egyptians Abroad & Digital ID Verification
A major announcement at Cairo ICT 2025 was the trial launch of digital services for Egyptians abroad via the Digital Egypt Platform. These include issuing authenticated documents—such as certified birth, marriage, divorce, and death certificates—directly from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Minister Talaat also revealed that the Digital ID Verification Card (Bitaqaty) will launch soon, enabling citizens to complete notarization and access government services fully online. In addition, the first phase introduces 45 exclusive digital services covering:
Commercial registry
Notarization
Civil status services
Social insurance
Local Manufacturing: USD 263 Million Investments and 9,000 Jobs
Highlighting Egypt’s advancements in local manufacturing, the minister announced:
15 global brands invested USD 200 million in mobile phone manufacturing
Production reached 20 million devices annually, covering 81% of domestic demand
Four companies now produce optical fiber cables with a capacity of 4 million kilometers per year
Total investment in mobile and fiber manufacturing reached USD 263 million, creating 9,000 direct and indirect jobs
These achievements reflect Egypt’s commitment to building a competitive and productive digital economy.
Developing Digital Talent: 25,000 Applicants to DIGITOPIA & Global Awards
The minister also reviewed national efforts to build digital skills:
DIGITOPIA competition attracted 25,000 participants aged 10–35 in programming, AI, digital arts, and cybersecurity.
72 teams reached the semi-finals, with results to be announced on 29 November.
Mahara-Tech trained 285,000 learners and won the 2025 UNESCO ICT in Education Award for promoting responsible digital learning.
Egypt University of Informatics (EUI) celebrated the graduation of its first class.
The ICT sector continues to grow at a 14% rate, contributing 6% to GDP, with digital exports expected to reach USD 7.4 billion in 2025. Egypt also advanced to Group A in the Global Government Digital Transformation Readiness Index.

Real estate export platform (with Ministry of Housing & ACA)
Digital litigation system (with Ministry of Justice & Public Prosecution)
